Effect of pompage on pain, disability and craniocervical position of female teachers - Randomized clinical trial

Abstract Introduction: Education professionals are one of the most important occupational groups and represents main parts economy modern society. The vocal demands mentioned by teachers talking while standing up, a lot in closed environment, which corresponds to frequent situations encountered teaching. In addition, remaining position for prolonged period may have repercussions on other systems generate postural deviations, pain reduced functionality. Objective: To verify changes pressure threshold, disability index craniocervical posture female with musculoskeletal complaints, normal larynx, after myofascial release - pompage. Methods: This study was controlled randomized clinical trial. following procedures were performed: anamnesis, videolaryngoscopy, hearing screening, photogrammetric assessment using SAPo® protocol, completion neck self-assessment protocol Neck Disability Index, threshold cervical muscles Pain Pressure Threshold. Myofascial therapy pompage had total 24 sessions 40 min each, three times week, 28 assigned group (SG), control (CG). Afterwards, reassessed. Results: SG presented significant improvement all evaluated, body segments disability. CG there angle A2 therapy. Conclusion: After pompage, subjects reduction functional disability, an increase improvement.
